![]() I'm thinking about quitting the club because I don't do anything, but my mom already paid roughly $1000 for me to be there. But being a coward, I told her it's fine. I talked to my mom about this, and she said she could ask the head coach to deal about this. I could be doing homework or utilizing that 2 hours for a better purpose. I'm tired of just watching and hopelessly call the balls in or out. My coach benching me for 2 hours of scrimmaging is just pointless. I may not be special or talented, but I'm doing whatever I can to catch up. ![]() But what I'm saying is that I want her to treat me the same way as all the other members. Many could argue that the coach can't just prioritize me over everyone else. And I'm crippling my mental health bits by bits as I start to loose a lot of confidence. I'm always benched and I never get to be on the court. I'm always doing my best, but it's not always presented in a way coaches could see. I'm not as important as the other players. I'm sitting in my room sobbing because I don't belong on the volleyball team. But I don't see it happening anytime soon. Maybe, just maybe, if I'm a good player, they just might go through the trouble and add me on the roster. I'm very desperate to show how much I improved but she never gives me a chance. It's not the first time either because the coach prioritizes everyone-even those who doesn't learn- above me. We were scrimmaging against another team to prepare for the upcoming competition. Today was the last practice before the tournament that's coming up soon. I became an unofficial member on the team MEANING that I can't join the team on tournament days. I joined the club "too late" and the head coach wasn't able to put me on the roster. I run the court very well, but she just doesn't prioritizes me very well. To me, it means the coach doesn't trust in my leadership. My back luck hits me and apparently, everyone on the team (somehow) is very talented? I changed from a setter to a back-up right back. I want to focus on improving and not compare myself to others. I joined a "mediocre" club team so that I wouldn't have to have the pressure to be above average. But treating this as a learning experience, I have decided to redeem myself and to join club to keep on improving.īad choice. But throughout high school volleyball season, I became a benchwarmer, a back up setter, and an embarrassing member on the volleyball team. I think I significantly displayed a lot of improvements throughout the weeks and months. I'm a 14 yo freshman that has played volleyball for a year.
